ARTICLES: THE ABRAHAMIC BLESSING

YOU'RE MORE THAN BLESSED; YOU'RE A BLESSING!

Genesis 12:2-3 “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you, all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

If you’re born again, you’re more than a blessed boy or girl: you’re actually a blessing. Not only did God bless Abraham, He also made him a blessing: “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2).

This didn’t end with Abraham, for the Bible says, “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). To be in Christ means you’re born again, thus all the blessings God endowed Abraham with are now your present-hour possession, making you a package of divine blessing.

No matter the health condition anyone may have, for example, he or she could get healed just by touching you in faith. That’s because you carry something inside you: “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us” (2 Corinthians 4:7).
The Bible says you’re the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 3:16); that makes you the embodiment of the fullness of the blessings of God.
That’s why it’s a blessing in itself to all those who are acquainted with you; they’re blessed, just for knowing you! Living daily with this consciousness will eradicate every sense of need or lack from your life. You shouldn’t suffer or put up with sickness or live a beggarly life, for you’ve been called to inherit a blessing.

Live up to your calling. You’re full of the blessings of God. There’s no blessing in this world or in heaven that you should be asking God for, because all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21). Bask in superabundance!

YOU ARE A BLESSING
God is a “blessing-God”; He always loves to bless people. The Bible says, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him” (2 Chronicles 16:9).

In other words, He’s constantly looking around for someone to do something good for, someone to bless. But to do this, He won’t come down from heaven; He needs someone in the earth to bless another person. That’s why He trains us by teaching us to give, to be caring and concerned about the needs of others.

Realize that you’re God’s point of contact to your world; you’re His contact-point of blessings! You’re not the one trying to get blessed, for you’ve already been lavishly blessed; now you’re a blessing (Genesis 12:2). When God is looking for whom to bless, He wants to use you, because your life is overflowing with blessings.

Abraham was a blessed man; he was prosperous in all things, for God had blessed him abundantly. Just by association with Abraham, Lot, his nephew, became very wealthy. That’s the way you are; you’re that channel for distribution of God’s blessings to the world.

GOD’S WORD: THE MATERIAL FOR YOUR BLESSING
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves…But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed (James 1:22-25).

The Word of God can be trusted; its integrity is unquestionable. When God wants to do something new in your life, He gives you His Word; He brings that thing (whatever it is), into your life through words; through His message to you. His Word is His material for blessing you. It behooves you, therefore, to get the Word into your spirit; trust and live in the Word.

When He wanted to launch Abraham to a new level in his life, it was through words. He said to him, “Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee” (Genesis 17:5). In the mind of God, Abraham being the father of many nations was a done deal. Though Abraham had no physical children at the time, as far as God was concerned, he was already a father of many, through words.

Until Abraham connected with God’s Word, he couldn’t walk in the blessings thereof. Being the father of many nations was God’s destiny for him; a destiny created through God’s Word. There’re people who aren’t walking in God’s destiny for their lives because they aren’t living out the Word. Don’t assume that as long as God has given a word concerning you, it’ll come to pass; you have a role to play. You must believe and act on the Word. You must connect to, and align yourself with His message to you to experience the blessings thereof.

The Bible says, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3). You have to walk and agree with God for His blessings, His truth, His Word, His will and purpose to be fulfilled in your life. You have to work out your own salvation with godly reverence (Philippians 2:12). It’s the doer, not the hearer of the Word, that’s blessed. Read the opening scripture again.

LET THE SPIRIT GUIDE YOU TO PROSPERITY
“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great” (Genesis 26:12-13).

The Bible says Isaac waxed great, went forward, and grew until he became very great; what a life!

As the seed of Abraham, this is the life to which you've been called. You are set apart to make progress and be successful in every area of your life, irrespective and independent of the surrounding circumstances.

During a time of famine and great dearth in the Land of Gerar, many made their exit to a seemingly more profitable economy in Egypt, but God instructed Isaac to stay and sow in the same land. Isaac obeyed, and his obedience paid off, as he got richer by the day, until he became a dominant force in the land (Genesis 26:13-14).

The secret to a life of progress and unending prosperity is in heeding to the counsel and direction given to you by the Holy Spirit. Wherever He tells you to go is where you should go, and whatever He tells you to do is what you should do.

The reason for Isaac’s prosperity and greatness in Gerar was his obedience to divine instructions. It didn't matter that there was famine in the land, his results turned out differently.

It doesn't matter how things may look around you; if you’d let the Spirit guide you in the affairs of your life, like Isaac, your life will be a story of unending progress!

LAY UP GOLD AS DUST!
Somebody says, "There’s financial drought. Everywhere is just dry". Not you! Dry? Never! Not in your DNA. You are always in surplus!

But when do you have the most dust? In time of dryness! Wipe the dust today, come back tomorrow, the dust is back, all over the place. The Scripture is saying "In time of dryness, I lay up gold as dust (Job 22:24). Too much money! When bank accounts are frowning, your bank accounts are laughing, shouting for joy.

Remember, everything in life including your bank accounts has intelligence. Let your bank accounts shout for joy, and be glad! Because your bank accounts are favoring God's righteous cause, yea, let your finances say continually, "Let the Lord be magnified...." (Psalm 35:27).

It’s time to start laying up gold as dust and it’s time to start funding the Gospel big time.

You name is on every naira, every rand, every dollar, every cedis, every euro, and every pound, Just look at them closely with the eyes of faith and you'll see your name boldly written on them. Glory to God!

Your name is on every million, every billion, every trillion of dollars. Your name is on every property, every vehicle, and every aircraft for our are a joint-heir with Christ. You are Abraham' seed, possessor of all things, things present, things to come (1 Corinthians 3:21-22).

YOU OWN THIS WORLD
"And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise" (Galatians 3:29).

The opening scripture let's us know we own this world, for God gave the whole world to Abraham and his seed. That seed is Christ; and if you belong to Christ, you're Abraham's seed and therefore an heir according to the promise.

Some people are fighting over states, cities, municipals, e.t.c., trying to gain influence and control; wanting to be a Senator, Mayor, Governor, or even President. There's nothing wrong with that, but for you, you own everything; you own the whole world. If anybody doesn’t agree with it, it makes no difference; there is proof to that! Your proof is the Word of God. If there is anyone to tell who truly owns this world it ought to be God, for He made the whole world. And He said in 1 Corinthians 3:21-22, "...For all things are yours; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours."

So as a child of God, it's not a mere boast but absolute reality when you say "I own this world; all things are mine!" Let this be your mentality and your talk. You say  "Father, I thank you today, because the whole world is mine!" Now, if the whole is yours, that means you should never be lack-conscious, since you're an heir of God, and a joint-heir with Christ. That means everything the Father owns belong to Christ and therefore to you. In Psalm 50:12, God said "...the world is mine and the fulness thereof...." As God’s heir, and a joint heir with Christ, the whole world us yours, and the fullness thereof.

Let it become your present-hour way of thinking; that you own this world. There's a legal document to that effect  - God’s Word. So it doesn't matter who challenges you or thinks you're nuts for making such a old declaration; it doesn’t change any! So walk tall, talk big; for you own this world.
