ARTICLES ON SOULWINNING: CELEBRATING DIVINE LIFE

CELEBRATING DIVINE LIFE

...I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).

It’s important to understand who Jesus is, and what He actually came to do. Jesus is not a religious leader; He didn’t come to establish a religion. There’re many who think He came to show us how to do good things, and live the good life; that’s not what He came to do. He came to give us life. Therefore, Christmas is the celebration of the divine life—the God-kind of life that we have received in Christ Jesus.

God made us humans, but wanted us to have His life and nature. His plan was to make us associates of the God-kind, not just to live as mere men. That’s the reason He sent Jesus to the world, to live, die, and come back to life, and make it possible for men to receive the life of God: “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life…” (1 John 5:11-12).

How can anyone receive this life and nature of God today? It’s through faith in what Christ has done. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Anyone who believes, receives. Eternal life—the life and nature of God—is imparted to you the moment you make Jesus the Lord of your life. This life is one of righteousness, glory, victory, success and excellence.

Religion would have men believe they can only receive this life when they get to heaven, but eternal life is the present-hour possession of the one who believes in Jesus Christ. Man, in all his self-righteousness, is nothing before the Lord, until he receives this glorious life in him. If you haven’t been born again, you can do so even now, and become a partaker of this glorious, supernatural life, by asking Jesus to be the Lord of your life.

DISPENSE LIFE!

For the scripture says, “The first man, Adam, was created a living being”; but the last Adam is the life-giving Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 15:45 GNB

Jesus came with a purpose—to give eternal life to those who would believe in Him. He affirmed this in John 10:10(MSG), “…I came so they can have real and eternal life.” In John 10:27-28, He also said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life.” This is why Paul describes Him in 1 Corinthians 15:45 as the life-giving Spirit.

It’s beautiful to know that having been born again, you’ve become one spirit with the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:17). In other words, you’re also a life-giving spirit—a dispenser and distributor of divine life. Your purpose thus is to bring the lost into the life of righteousness through the Gospel. This is why Jesus, in John 20:21, said, “…As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

Jesus has appointed you as His representative and bearer of His Gospel on earth, to manifest the God-life to the nations of the world. Eternal life is revealed through the preaching of the Gospel. This means that as people listen to you preach, eternal life—salvation, prosperity and the righteousness of God—is unveiled to them.

A SPECIAL KIND OF LIFE

“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” (1 John 5:11-12)

When you're born again, the very life of Christ is the life that you receive into your spirit. Jesus said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches ...” (John 15:5). If He's the Vine and we're His branches, it means the very life that flows through Him flows through us also. That life is what is called in the Greek language 'ZoĆ«' the God- life! It's everlasting life, the very essence of divinity; and it's a special kind of life.

When you let that life dominate you, it'll destroy every disease; it'll destroy every unwanted growth; it'll paralyze every work of the devil! You see, you're not what you used to be! When you were born again, you received the life of God. This life is in His Son and he that has the Son has this life. This is the life that makes you superhuman. You didn't get it from your earthly father nor did you get it from your lineage; you got it from Jesus! This is why the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

You've got to cast away the wrong mentality: the defeat mentality, the poverty mentality and the weakness mentality. Cast them all down and out! Reject them from your life and make up your mind that you'll not be a defeated person or a victim in life for you have a new life and future.

When you're conscious of the life of God in you, you'll never waste your time praying for deliverance or seeking for a breakthrough because you'll discover that Jesus already broke through for you! He already placed before you an open door that no devil can shut. You're a new creature with the life, power and abilities of God functioning in you; therefore, you're a victor all the time, absolutely successful in everything that concerns you!
