ARTICLES: THE GREATER YOU

YOU CAN BE A TRUE SUCCESS!

Getting a school degree is important, but there's more to life.

There's something more important than the education you receive from the four walls of an academic institution; it's called spiritual education.
For some people, having acquired an academic degree, they think that's all they need. While it's good to be formally educated, true success is of the Spirit. This accounts for the reason many of the world's intelligentsia have a life that's the complete antithesis of true success.

Some people make straight "A"s in school but got a "D" in life. For example, a medical doctor who, after treating so many people, contracts a disease that has defied all medical solutions. Now, he's unable to help himself. How sad.
Life is spiritual, and true success is only achievable when you apply the principles of God's Word. The Word of God guarantees your all-around prosperity; give it first place in your life.

Let no one deceive you and tell you that life is full of ups and downs; you can be a success—a true success.
Joshua 1:8 tells you how: "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Proverbs 3:5 says, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." In all that you do in life, let the Word guide you; study it and do what it says, and you'd always be a success.

YOU CAN "MAKE" SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (Hebrews 11:3).

Our theme scripture shows us the power of faith. It says through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. This means you can bring something out of nothing, through faith. How do you acquire faith? Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” That means if you didn’t have enough faith, you could make faith come to you by hearing the Word. Faith comes to you in the Word, and with that faith, you can make things happen.

This completely debunks the mentality of those who sit idly by, waiting for “something good to happen to them.” Never wait for things to happen by themselves. Through faith you can create something out of nothing. 2 Corinthians 4:6 reveals an important principle to this effect; it says, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

Notice that God didn’t wait for the darkness to turn to light; He commanded the light to shine out of darkness! There’s a difference between lighting up a dark place and shining light out of darkness. The latter is the faith of God Jesus described in Mark 11:22.

Now, remember, we’re made in the image and likeness of God; that means we look like Him, and can function like Him. Therefore, when life looks dark, and things look confusing, you can make something good out of that seemingly distressing situation with the Word of faith in your mouth. You can command light out of darkness. What you need is the Word of God; when that Word comes to you, it will spark up faith in your spirit to see endless possibilities. Put that faith to work through words and “make something out of nothing.”

THE GREATER “YOU” .
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us (2 Corinthians 4:7).

The glory of God that’s been deposited within you isn’t meant to be hidden. God’s dream is to see you search out the hidden treasures in your “earthen vessel” by means of the Spirit, so you can have that glory unveiled and made manifest to the world.

Many have lived and died without having the glorious one in them unveiled. They lived and died as the weak, outer earthen vessel only. All the world saw of them was the outer case that had covered the glorious one within. But there’s a greater “you” within that no one has seen yet, and God’s dream is that you’ll discover him and let him out. All the success, victories, and glories you could have are in that greater “you”; therefore let out the greatness encapsulated in your spirit.

Speaking concerning the Word, John declared, “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world” (John 1:9). God’s Word is the only light that can help you locate that greater one in you. That light will show you who you really are: a king that has the power to decree a thing and have it established unto you!

Yes, you might have made mistakes and experienced some disappointments, so you think you know yourself and your limitations; but you’re looking at the wrong thing. Take your eyes off those limitations and look into God’s mirror (His Word). As you look at the glory of God in the mirror, you’re metamorphosed into the image of God’s glory that you see (2 Corinthians 3:18).

The more you look at that image, the more you’re changed to become what you see.
This change will happen to you everyday as you study God’s Word, as you look at that image in the mirror of God and meditate on it everyday. Soon enough, that seemingly weak, timid, failing, limited man that had been out there will give way to the glorious, successful, and powerful new man within. Start today to discover the greater “you” in you from the Word and unveil him to your world.

MAXIMIZE THE TREASURE IN YOU
"That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus" (Philemon 1:6).

The Bible says we've been called into fellowship with the Lord Jesus: "God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord" (1 Corinthians 1:9). The Greek word translated “fellowship" and "communicate" is "koinonia" which also means oneness, partnership, companionship and communion. It means the drinking or sharing together until you can't tell us apart from Him.

The import of this word is that it reinforces the fact that you're participating in divinity, just as the Apostle Peter says, "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust" (2 Peter 1:4). How the whole world needs to hear it!

The scripture says the communication of your faith becomes effectual (that is, active, operative or functional) as you acknowledge every good thing that is in you in Christ Jesus. Did you know there was something good inside you? The Bible says there is! The world wouldn't tell you that. You can only get such information from the Word of God.

The word "acknowledging" as used in the scripture doesn't just mean that you nod your head in approval. It's more than mental accent; it’s the affirmation of truth. It's from the Greek word "epignosis" which by definition means "a specific revelation knowledge that’s void of any assumptions." You've been brought into a special esoteric knowledge belonging only to those who have been initiated by the Holy Spirit. In other words, you've been brought into a full knowledge of the treasures that are in you.

You may have great treasures in you which aren't functional. You can be in a church and not be functional. It's saddening to note that many Christians are in this category today. You don’t have to remain a bench warmer in your church anymore. The Bible is showing you that God wants your participation in the gospel of Jesus Christ to become functional.

He has shown you how to make the great treasure in you functional, and that is by the acknowledging of every good thing in you. This is why you need to spend more time in the Word of God. As you meditate on the Word, the Holy Spirit will bring its reality to light in your life.

RECOGNIZE YOUR INHERITANCE TODAY!
The identity crisis is probably the greatest problem in the world today. It is the root of all wars, genocides, civil unrest and racial discrimination. Sadly many of God’s children are caught in the web of this crisis; they still don’t understand who they are in Christ, and until we are fully acquainted with our true personality in Christ, we can’t effectively impact our generation.

We need to take out more time to study and meditate on God’s Word until its truths completely soak into our Spirits. Never base your understanding of the scriptures on another man’s assumptions; find out the truth by yourself from the Word. As you do, the Lord will impart wonderful revelations to your spirit, and you will better understand who you are in Him.
According to the Scriptures, we have become sharers of God’s nature through the Word of God. This is not futuristic; it is in the ‘now.’ It is something that has already taken place. This is the greatest revelation the Church will ever have in this final hour, and it will culminate in the glorious gathering of the body of Christ unto Jesus at the rapture.

So you see, the Church of Jesus Christ is growing in knowledge and we are being reawakened in the knowledge of the living Word. We discover each day, that we are not just followers of Jesus Christ or believers; something more actually happened in you when you believed. You became one with God in nature and quality. As you continue to build yourself by studying the Word of God, you become more like Him in character and personality. That’s who you are and that’s what He has made you to be. Never be afraid to declare it boldly for all to hear!
