ARTICLES: WORDS

WORDS MEAN EVERYTHING

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned (Matthew 12:37).

The greatest gift given to man in his natural life is the gift of words; the ability to express himself in words. It’s an extraordinary gift from God to human beings. Your inner personality comes out in words. Your words are important; words mean everything. Sadly, many haven’t realized this, and it’s the major reason they live ordinary lives here on earth.

Everything God gave us is activated through words. Our very salvation depends on words. You received salvation by words; you maintain salvation by words. Whether you live or die is dependent on your words. Whether you live in sickness or health, poverty or wealth, victory or defeat, depends on your words. The Lord gave you the ability to speak; to use your mouth to chart your course aright in life.

Your mouth wasn’t given to you primarily for eating and drinking and communicating with others; the primary function of your mouth and your tongue is to steer your life in God’s direction for you. Learn to talk right. Talking right means talking the Word only and always. It also means valuing what you say; learning to keep promises. Your words must have integrity; they must mean something to you.

There’re people who are careless with words. When they talk to you, they know their words don’t mean anything because they don’t plan to keep it. You must say what you mean, and mean what you say. Don’t speak idle, inoperative words. In Matthew 12:36, the Lord Jesus said, “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment.” God holds you accountable for the things you say. Don’t make careless statements, for they’ll produce results for you.

One of the ways the world around you can see Jesus in you is through your character, which is often expressed in your words. Therefore, speak wholesome, gracious words every time and everywhere. Make it a conscious exercise to store God’s Word in your heart, for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34). As God’s Word dwells richly in your heart, you’ll develop and speak the right words; gracious and faith-filled words

YOU CAN HAVE WHAT YOU SAY!

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith (Mark 11:23).

Some folks like to criticize those who believe in the message of faith, calling them the ‘name-it-and-claim-it bunch’. ‘How can you believe that by merely saying something is yours, it becomes yours?’ they query derogatorily. Well, guess what? That’s exactly what the Bible says! You can have whatever you say.

The Lord Jesus was unequivocal in His statement in the opening Scripture about the power of confessions made from a heart that is full of faith. He said ‘whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;’… that lets me know He’s talking about you and me since ‘whosoever’ is a ‘blank cheque!’

Jesus also said, ‘…and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith’. This means if you make your faith declarations and do not doubt in your heart, you are guaranteed to get the result.

In Mark 11:14, when Jesus cursed the fig tree, nothing seemed to have physically happened to it immediately; however, the Master knew that the faith of God doesn’t require such evidence. He said what He wanted to see, walked away, and that was exactly what happened!

The Bible says “So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how” (Mark 4:26). The words you speak are themselves seeds.

When you speak the Word in faith, you don’t need to keep looking on the outside to see if it’s working; no, the seed will spring up and grow while you sleep! All you need do is to speak in faith and in the Name of Jesus, and surely, you’ll have whatever it is that you’ve spoken. This is an infallible principle in the Word of God: what you say is what you get.

YOUR FUTURE IS IN YOUR MOUTH

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 8:21).

Your mouth is not for talking and eating only! The Bible shows us that your mouth is what charts your course in life. You need to know that your future is in your mouth. Your prosperity, health, success, victory, progress and promotion in life are the result of what you say with your mouth. That's on the positive. In the same way, on the negative, the sickness, failure, poverty, disease, lack, frustrations and fear that people experience in their lives are the result of what they say with their mouths.

Nothing happens in your life except that which you've voiced with your mouth. So, whether or not you're going to have a glorious, prosperous, victorious and successful future is dependent on what you say with your mouth today.

As a child of God, you're not a loser; you've already been declared a victor. You're not one of those trying to win or striving to get the victory. The Word proclaims that you are more than a conqueror. In 1 John 5:4, the Spirit of God declares that you are above every circumstance because your faith is the conquering power that tames the world.

Live in victory by speaking faith-filled words. Your faith subdues the world and its systems. Never talk sickness; talk health all the time.

You may be asking, “Even when I feel the symptoms of sickness?” Yes! Symptoms are lying vanities, according to the Bible; they are not real. Only God's Word is real and true concerning your health. So when you declare health instead of sickness, that's what you'll have. In the same way, don't talk poverty, talk wealth! All the money you need in this world is in your mouth! Everything you'll require to live the great life of glory that God has ordained for you is right in your mouth.

Use your mouth right! Speak the right words; never talk yourself down. Speak words of prosperity, health and life. That's the language of the King. Every day, when you wake up, declare who you are. You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you; He energizes you and dwells in you. Sickness, defeat, failure and poverty have no place in your life, for you're the King's kid now. You're a success and a victor, you are more than a conqueror.

Learn to speak the right words about yourself daily. Speak God's Word with faith in your heart; speak consistently into the lives of your spouse, children and family members; speak faith-filled words on your job, over your finances and business. This is the victory that overcomes the world.

THE POWER OF YOUR WORDS

Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!” (James 3:5)

One of the greatest gifts that God gave to man is the power to use words. Words are the building blocks of life; they create the image of a man’s life, and the circumstances in it.

Words direct the course of life for every man, and they have the power to control your future. , words are spiritual elements. This means, words don’t die; they are never lost!

Jesus admonishing the Pharisees said, “…every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment” (Matthew 12:36). This shows us the value of words, and why we must consistently speak the right words – faith filled words.

Only use words that are consistent with what God has said about you in His Word. Speak words of faith, love, hope, health, prosperity, success and victory always.  Don’t say what you perceive with your physical senses; rather, agree with, confess, and testify of the Word!

The quality of your life on earth, your relationship with God, your relationship with others, and where you go eternally: heaven or hell, are determined by your words. Don’t take them lightly!

EFFECT THE CHANGE WITH YOUR WORDS!

“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe , and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13).

The Lord Jesus displayed absolute mastery over the circumstances of life, including the forces of nature.

One time He was hungry and walked to a fig tree, hoping to find some fruit to eat. But the tree was fruitless, as it was not yet the season for figs. Jesus then spoke to the tree saying, “…No man eat fruit of thee hereafter forever. And his disciples heard it” (Mark 11:14).

The next day, Peter, called the Master’s attention to the fig tree, saying, “Master, behold the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away” (Mark 11:21). Here’s His response, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23).

The Lord Jesus, showing the power and efficacy of words, made us understand that we can talk to anything, influence anything, and effect any change we desire.

Your faith-filled words determine the quality of life you’ll live! It doesn’t matter the situation or circumstance in which you’ve found yourself, you can effect changes with your faith filled words!

TAKE CHARGE WITH YOUR MOUTH!

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand" (Ephesians 6:13).

It’s essential for every Christian to be spiritually sensitive enough to detect and decisively deal with the enemy whenever he shows up on the scene.

Contrary to what many believe, Satan isn’t sitting in one place with folded arms (Job 2:2). Peter describes him as roaming about like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour, and thus urged us to “Be sober, be vigilant…” (1 Peter 5:8).

The reason the devil is able to plunder some lives, families or businesses is that they’ve not used the Word to take charge of the circumstances of their lives. Remember, the Christian who’s not a doer of God’s Word will suffer the same fate as the rest of the world (Psalm 119:67).

You can make changes with God’s Word and live in perpetual victory.

It doesn’t matter what your family has been like, if you wake up in your spirit and begin to declare God’s Word about the situation, things will turn out for the better.

If you’ve been facing financial difficulty or sickness, call your household together and begin to declare, “We refuse to lack in this home. We refuse to walk in want or sickness.” Learn to declare faith-filled words.

Stop confessing what you’re going through. You may have a growth in your body that has defied medical solutions. You’re going to talk to that growth right now.

You say, “Growth, leave my body now in the Name of Jesus! Greater is He that is in me.”  The cancer or tumor will surely die.

Choose your words carefully, for those in the family of God don’t talk carelessly.

Talk like Paul, who said, “I can do all things through Christ that energizes me,” or Peter, who said, “We are participators in the divine nature,” and John, who said, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.” Talk like someone who has discovered the secret of the new creation.
